Fuel Pump Relay, Black; Gray; Green, Driver Side

Detach the negative Battery Cable and pull out the underhood electric center cover to get to the Fuel Pump Relay which the electrical center cover marks. Replace the Fuel Pump Relay with the new one, put it back in the previous spot, replace the cover of the underhood electrical center and finish by attaching the negative Battery Cable.

To service the Fuel Pump Relay, begin by unsnapping the fuse block assembly cover away from the underhood fuse block assembly and remove the Fuel Pump Relay. For installation, put the Fuel Pump Relay back into position and reattach the fuse block assembly cover to the fuse block assembly.

Begin by opening the vehicle's hood to disconnect the washer hose before replacing the Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) relay. Start by removing the retention clip which holds the cruise control cable in place before setting the cable off to the side. First remove the multi-use relay and fuse bracket cover with the electrical tape securing the relays. The Relay Puller Pliers (J 43244) helps disconnect the malfunctioning DRL relay from the multi-use relay and fuse center so replacement can begin. Use the Relay Puller Pliers (J 43244) to place the new DRL relay within the multi-use relay and fuse center followed by securing the relays with fresh electrical tape. After placing the multi-use relay and fuse bracket cover over its positioned bracket secure the cover through its clips. Insert the cruise control cable into the retention clip on the left strut tower before using the clip to secure it. Finish by connecting the washer solvent hose and pressing down the hood lock.

Security requires removing the rear seat back before removing the cover from the number 4 relay center to extract the reverse lamp relay. Install the new reverse lamp relay by placing it in the number 4 relay center followed by covering the relay center and returning the rear seat back into its position.

Once you have the relay, attach it to the connector on the wire harness, put any CPA devices or secondary locks back, and fasten the relay with either the original fasteners or some tape.

Untighten the three bolts connecting the relay center and the bracket to the inner/outer brackets of the instrument panel driver knee bolster before removing them both from their mounting sites. Start by taking out the DRL relay from its position within the relay center. First connect the DRL relay to the relay center and reinstall both components back onto the inner and outer brackets of the instrument panel driver knee bolster. Three bolts need to be carefully installed to fasten the relay center with the bracket while you should tighten them to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Reinstall the instrument panel driver knee bolster panel as the concluding step.

Service of the Fuel Pump Relay begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. First disconnect the underhood electrical center cover and then remove the Fuel Pump Relay located according to the marked position on the cover. Install the Fuel Pump Relay into its electrical center cover position followed by underhood electrical cover replacement before reconnecting the negative cable.

Reinstall the under hood electrical center cover.

Using pliers or a flat-bladed tool could damage the electrical center.

Turn the ignition ON.

Reinstall the rear seat back.

Secure the electrical center to avoid stress on the wires or terminals.

Take out any connector position assurance (CPA) devices or secondary locks.

Utilize the J 43244 Relay Puller Pliers (J 43244) to position the tool on opposing corners of the relay and pull it straight out from the electrical center terminals.

Remove the cover from the relay center.

Use the original fasteners or tape to secure the relay.

Push the relay into the relay center socket.

Use the Master Electrical Component List to identify its position in the vehicle.

Remove the underhood electrical center cover.

Take out the three bolts that secure the relay center and the bracket to the inner and outer brackets of the instrument panel driver knee bolster.

To avoid stressing the wires or terminals.

Remove any fasteners securing the relay and detach any connector position assurance (CPA) devices or secondary locks.

Pull upward to remove the fuel pump relay.

Push the relay into the relay center socket.

Secure the relay using the original fasteners or tape that held it in place.

Secure the relay using the original fasteners or tape that held it in place.

Place the fuel pump relay back in its designated location.

Connect the relay back to the wire harness connector, ensuring to reinstall any CPA devices or secondary locks.

Next, separate the relay from the wire harness connector.

Connect the relay to the wire harness connector.
