    Your first step when replacing the Blower Motor Resistor should be to take out the ip sound insulator unless it is present. Unplug the electrical wires from both the Blower Motor and the Blower Motor Resistor. Bring out the Blower Motor Resistor by removing its retaining screws. After putting the new Blower Motor Resistor in place you must fasten it with retaining screws. Torque the screws to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in) according to the fastener notice. Afterward reconnect the Blower Motor Resistor to its power supply and then to the Blower Motor. Reinstall the ip sound shield only if the vehicle has this part.

Pull out the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor then unscrew its retaining screws. Move the blower motor resistor out of its position in the vehicle. Insert the blower motor resistor into its proper position and fasten it with two screws at 1.9 N.m (17 lb in) force following the Fastener Notice. Put back the right rear quarter trim panel by connecting its electrical interface to the blower motor resistor.

Insert the new Blower Motor Resistor into place and make sure to follow all instructions mentioned in the service precautions fastener notice. Install the resistor using its retaining screws before twisting them to 1.6 n.m force. Reattach electrically both the motor resistor and the Blower Motor unit. Reinstall the ip sound insulator last when it is present.
