You should use a hammer combined with a brass drift which requires forward and backward drift movement to meticulously extract the outer and inner pinion bearing cups. Operation of the inner pinion bearing cup into the pinion gear bearing retainer uses j 37624 and j 8092 followed by j 8608 and j 8092 for the outer pinion bearing cup installation. You need to apply sealant to the selective shim before setting the pinion gear bearing retainer with its bolts and tightening them to 88 nm (65 lb ft). First reinstall the oil seal or drive pinion flange along with the rear propeller shaft along with the rear axle shafts. The vehicle should receive its lubricant fill before removing the support so it can return to ground level.

A collapsible spacer must be removed before using a hammer and brass drift to safely extract the pinion bearing cups from their points. Uniform motion should be applied from both sides. The j 8092 (Universal Driver Handle 3/4 in-10) together with the j 37624 (Pinion Bearing Installer) should be used to mount the inner pinion bearing cup inside the pinion gear bearing retainer. The j 8608 (Pinion Bearing Cup Installer) and j 8092 (Universal Driver Handle 3/4 in-10) must be employed to install the outer pinion bearing cup. Put sealant on the selective shim surface before you install the pinion gear bearing retainer along with its bolts which need to be tightened to 88 nm (65 lb ft). After installing the drive pinion flange with either the yoke or an oil seal the technician should continue installing the rear propeller shaft and rear axle shafts. Shift the axle into its normal lubricant flow before taking away the support to let the vehicle descend to the floor.
