What Tools Are Required to Service and Repair Brake Calipers on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

Service and repair of the brake caliper needs j 8092 universal driver (J 8092) and j 45507 caliper boot seal installer (J 45507). First take off the brake caliper from the car and drain the brake fluid. Insert clean fabric material inside the caliper housing before pulling out the Piston and stack a 25mm wooden block between the Piston and caliper. Place a big c-clamp on top of the brake caliper body so its poles rest flat against both sides of the unit and the block of wood. Use compressed air entering from the brake caliper inlet to push out the Piston before removing both the c-clamp and wood block. After padding the inside of the caliper housing add another 25 mm block of wood that covers the open caliper bore. Perform the steps once more to take out the second Piston from the brake caliper. Remove the Piston dust boot seal and Piston seal with a thin plastic or wooden implement. Take off the brake caliper valve stem and bleeder valve piece without applying sandpaper to the brake caliper Piston. Check the mount bolts on the brake caliper before cleaning the Piston bores and seals with denatured alcohol. Dust the parts with air filtered for lubricant then look for parts damage. Replace the entire caliper system if replacement becomes necessary. Install and tighten the brake caliper bleeder valve at 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) before applying its cap. Put delco supreme 11 brake fluid gm p/n 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667) or its equivalent dot-3 brake fluid into new Piston seals before fitting them into the caliper bore seal grooves. Apply brake fluid lubricant to all the caliper bores and pistons before pushing the pistons into their bores and placing new dust boot seals over them. Insert both the j 8092 and j 45507 tools into the dust boot seals to push them firmly into the caliper housing. Put the caliper unit back into its proper position on the vehicle.
