How to replace the door hinge pin and bushings on the front door on Chevrolet Express 3500?

The first step for replacing door hinge pin and bushings on front doors is the removal of hinge pin retainers from their pins. Place locking pliers onto the bottom hinge pin as you strike it with a soft-faced hammer to extract it. A bolt should be installed through the lower hinges to keep the door in position temporarily. Position the locking pliers lower on the upper hinge pin to extract it using a soft-faced hammer. It is essential to have an assistant help you detach the door from the vehicle after you have removed the bolt from the lower hinge pin opening. Remove the upper hinge pin bushings from the door using a proper tool and do the same for the lower hinge pin bushings from the body. A suitable tool should be used to place both the lower hinge pin bushings into the body while installing the upper hinge pin bushings into the door. Two people should reattach the door by securing it with a bolt through its lower hinges while working on vehicle installation. Correctly position the upper hinge pin in the upper hinge and drive its pointed end facing upward by using a soft-faced hammer and remove the lower hinge temporary bolt. Complete hinge installation requires driving the lower hinge pin into its spot using a soft-faced hammer on the bottom end before placing the hinge pin retainers on both pins.

How to replace the rear door hinge without PRP on Chevrolet Express 3500?

The first step in replacing rear door hinges without prp requires removing the door seal and tracing the original hinge locations onto the body pillar or door. Mark the approximate centers on the mig welds of the hinge base before drilling 3 mm (1/8 in) pilot holes completely through spot welds at all chosen locations. Drill a 13 mm (1/2 inch) hole through the hinge base and the body pillar or door by using the smaller hole as guidance. The remaining weld should be removed by using a chisel to detach the hinge from its attachment to the body pillar or door before finally removing the hinges. The inside holes of the hinge pillar or door requires deburring before inserting the hinge and backing plate. A flatness check of the hinge seating area should also be performed. The inner and outer parts of the hinge pillar and door at their hinge locations should receive paint treatment followed by sealer application across the mating hinge surface. Use the scribe marks from removal to position the bolt-on service replacement hinges and complete installation onto the body pillar or door by using the bolts with tapping plate provided in the service replacement kit. Attain a preliminary torque setting of 5 n.m (44 lb in) while attaching the bolts and afterward install the door onto the body with proper alignment. After ensuring the lock engages properly with the striker you should close the door partially before tightening bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). As the last step seal the hinges before painting the entire assembly.
