The gm 4901m-d-2000 should be reviewed first for paint product recommendations then any paint system mix is prohibited. The paint operation must follow gm refinish specifications for the pillar hinge mounting surface. After that, install the service hinge and backing plate by torquing bolts to 23 n.m (17 lb ft). The service hinge needs clear silicone sealant application over its whole edge to stop water leaks before installing the door and potentially adjusting the front side Door Striker for proper flush alignment. Reinstall the interior trim which belongs to the pillar as the last step of installation.

The replacement process of cargo door hinges should begin with simultaneous replacement of both units present on the same panel.
