You must begin the exterior handle replacement by fully raising the window while taking off the front door trim panel. Begin by removing the water deflector after which you should disconnect the lock rods connecting to the lock mechanism. You must detach the rear run channel from the door and then remove both the bracket and its attached nuts which support the outside Door Handle to the door. Next follow up with removing the outside Door Handle from the door. Begin the installation process by positioning the outside Door Handle onto the door and fasten it with the nuts alongside the bracket . Use a torque wrench to tighten all retaining nuts to 11 n.m while maintaining 97 lb in as the torque specification. The installation starts with lock rod assembly to the lock then continued by reattaching the rear run channel and the lock rods. You should reinstall the front door trim panel plus the water deflector as your final step.

Position the new rear door inside handle onto the right rear door and attach the lock rods.

Put the water deflector back in place and finally, reinstall the front door trim panel.

Install the retaining nuts for the assembly and tighten them to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Attach the lock rod and door handle rod to the inside door handle.

Press on the sliding side door inside handle to engage the retaining clip.

Remove the right side rear door trim panel.

Use a center punch to remove the center of the rivets, then drill out the rivet from the inside door handle with a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit.

Attach the outside door handle to the door.

Install the rivet at the rear edge of the handle and reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.

Remove the lock rods from the handle.

Remove the inside door handle bezel from the vehicle.

The assembly includes the anti-theft shield.

Use the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) to release the retaining clip on the sliding side door inside handle.

Position the new handle onto the right rear door and attach the lock rods to it.

Remove the rear run channel from the door.

Reattach the lock rods to the lock, then reinstall the water deflector and finally the front door trim panel.

Install the retaining nuts for the assembly and tighten them to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Detach the nuts and the bracket that secure the outside door handle to the sliding side door.

Install the rivet to secure the inside door handle, followed by the water deflector.

Position the new latch handle onto the door and secure it with the nuts, tightening them to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Remove the sliding side door inside handle from the sliding side door control assembly and take it out of the vehicle.

Secure the outside door handle by installing the nuts and bracket, tightening the retaining nuts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Press the bezel to engage the retaining tab.

Remove the right side rear door trim panel.

Take out the sliding side door control assembly.

Take off the nuts and the bracket that secure the outside door handle to the door, allowing you to remove the handle.

The lock rods to the lock.

Reinstall the rear run channel, followed by the lock rods to the lock.

Raise the window completely.

Detach the lock rods from the lock.

Press on the sliding side door inside handle to engage the retaining clip securely.

Take out the push pin rivet located at the rear edge of the rear door inside handle.

Attach it to the control assembly.
