How to replace the rear door hinge with PRP on GMC Savana 2500?

The replacement of rear door hinges which have PRP requires installing only one hinge per panel at a time. Two people should work together to detach screws before pulling out both parts from the door and vehicle body. A helper should reposition the hinge back into body and door before installing screws without tightness. Insert the door properly then fasten screws at 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque.

How to replace the front side door hinge on GMC Savana 2500?

The first step for replacing the front side Door Hinge requires scraping away the sealer around the hinge while marking the current hinge positions on both the body pillar and door. Drill 3 mm (1/8 in) pilot holes through all hot welds at positions where center marks appear on the hinge base. Create openings through the hinge base along with the body pillar or door by using a 13 mm (1/2 in) drill bit beginning from the smaller drilled hole. The remaining welds should be removed with a chisel before separating the hinge from its body pillar or door. Next remove the hinges. Before installation thoroughly deburn all holes inside the hinge pillar and door to allow smooth hinge and backing plate seating along with a flatness check of the hinge seat area. You should apply paint to both sides of the hinge pillar and door where mounting occurs before putting sealer on the hinge mating area. Follow the scribe marks from removal and install the bolt-on service replacement hinges onto the body pillar or door with supplied bolts and tapping plate by tightening bolt torque to 5 n.m (44 lb in). The door installation on the body requires proper alignment before final tightening of the bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) after making sure the lock engages the striker correctly. After installation of the bolts and tapping plate, finish the service by applying sealer around the hinges followed by paint on the hinge assembly.

Follow the scribe marks from removal and install the bolt-on service replacement hinges onto the body pillar or door with supplied bolts and tapping plate by tightening bolt torque to 5 n.m (44 lb in). The door installation on the body requires proper alignment before final tightening of the bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) after making sure the lock engages the striker correctly. After installation of the bolts and tapping plate, finish the service by applying sealer around the hinges followed by paint on the hinge assembly.
