You must use gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent thread sealer when installing any ect sensor without applying sealant. Start by inserting the ect sensor into the Cylinder Head by hand and lock it in place with the ect sensor socket (J 45861) at a torque of 14 n.m (10 lb ft). After installing the ect sensor electrical connector to the camshaft cover reconnect the engine wiring harness to its respective connector on the ect sensor and top up the cooling system.
