How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Safari?

The engine cover should be removed and the tp sensor harness plug should be disconnected before you release the sensor. After that, take out the mounting bolts from the tp sensor, ensuring you do not expose the electronic part to any liquid cleaner or solvent. After you have done that, remove the tp sensor and the gasket from the Throttle Body. Be sure the throttle valve is closed and attach the tp sensor on the throttle shaft, turning it counterclockwise till the mounting holes are aligned. Put in the tp sensor mounting bolts and tighten them until they show 2 n.m (18 lb in) on the torque wrench. After that, connect the sensor harness to the tp sensor and place the engine cover back on.

How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Jimmy?

Repairs begin by extracting the Throttle Body followed by disconnecting the mounting screws from the tp sensor while maintaining the sensor free from liquid cleaners or solvents to keep it from damage. After separating the tp sensor from its Throttle Body position it is ready for detachment. Place the tp sensor above the throttle shaft by making sure its mounting holes fit precisely into the Throttle Body assembly holes. The attaching screw threads require cleaning before the application of thread locking material gm p/n 1052624 or equivalent because the screws used for tp sensor attachment have thread locking adhesive on them. Mount the tp sensor with installation screws then tighten them to 2.0 n.m (18 lb in). After finishing install the Throttle Body then join the tp sensor harness connector.

How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Savana 2500?

Starting the tp sensor replacement process requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then removing the generator. Start by disconnecting the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector after you remove the tp sensor attaching screws and detach the tp sensor from its mount. Finally remove the tp sensor o-ring seal . Install the tp sensor o-ring seal on the tp sensor before placing the tp sensor into position on the Throttle Body when the throttle valve rests in its closed setting. Make sure the tp sensor lever matches the tp sensor drive lever on the throttle shaft during this process. Screw down the tp sensor attaching screws at 2 n.m torque (18 lb in torque). After connecting the tp sensor electronic wires you will reinstall the generator unit and conclude by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
