One should begin Muffler (2500) replacement by properly raising and supporting the vehicle. Apply lubrication to insulators at the spots where the Muffler assembly hangers fit in order to simplify removal. The installation process will benefit from additional lubrication of the insulators. You need help moving the Muffler assembly into position for installation over the rear axle. The system should travel backwards to reach the catalytic converters before sliding forward to connect. The insulators required installation onto exhaust system hangers numbered 4, 5, and 6. After installation of the exhaust pipe clamp which secures the left Catalytic Converter use 44 n.m (32 lb ft) torque then install Muffler nuts to the right Catalytic Converter while applying 45 n.m (33 lb ft) torque.
