Handle, Outside, Passenger Side

The first step to replace the front door exterior handle involves raising the window completely until it is fully open. Remove the front door trim panel together with the water deflector next. Separate the lock rods attached to the lock before removing the rear run channel on the door. The next procedure involves removing nuts as well as the bracket which anchors the outside Door Handle to the door before pulling out the outside Door Handle itself. First install the outside Door Handle onto the door before fastening the bracket and nuts to keep the handle secured. Tighten all retaining nuts to a torque of 11 n.m which equals 97 lb in. Reinstall the rear run channel and follow it with the installation of lock rods to the lock and then the water deflector before installing the front door trim panel.

Position the outside door handle onto the door and secure it with the nuts and bracket.

Disconnect the lock rods from the handle and fully remove it.

Position the new rear door inside handle onto the right rear door and attach the lock rods to the handle.

Position the right side rear door outside door handle and license pocket assembly onto the right rear door, ensuring the anti-theft shield is placed between the assembly and the door.

Secure the rivet to the inside door handle.

Position the outside door handle back onto the door and secure it with the bracket and nuts.

Align the inside door handle bezel with the front door trim plate and press it towards the door trim panel to engage the retaining tab.

Fully take out the handle.

Fully take out the handle.

Disconnect the lock rods from the handle and fully remove it.

Remove the entire assembly from the right rear door.

Finally, reinstall the door trim panel.

Attach it to the control assembly.

Reinstall the water deflector and the front door trim panel.

Remove the lock rods from the handle.

Place the sliding side door inside handle back into the vehicle.

Use the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) to release the retaining clip on the sliding side door inside handle.

Insert the tabs of the new inside door handle into the rear door inner panel slots, then attach the lock rod and door handle rod to the inside door handle.

Take out the push pin rivet located at the rear edge of the inside handle and slide the inside handle forward to detach it from the door module.

Reattach the lock rods to the lock.

Begin by pressing the retaining tab on the inside door handle bezel to release it from the front door trim plate, then remove the bezel from the vehicle.

Take out the sliding side door control assembly and disconnect the lock rods from the lock.

Attach it to the control assembly.

Take out the water deflector and remove the lock rods from the lock.

Reinstall the rear run channel, attach the lock rods to the lock, put the water deflector back in place, and finally, reinstall the front door trim panel.

Reattach the sliding side door control assembly.

Disconnect the lock rods from the side rear door latch handle.

Raise the window completely and remove the front door trim panel.

Install the retaining nuts for the assembly and tighten them to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Reattach the lock rods to the lock and finally reinstall the right side rear door trim panel.
