Antenna Mast

To replace your digital radio antenna, start by removing the sail rear panels while making sure that you do not paint or use clear coat on your XM band radio antenna as it may harm the functioning and can cause poor reception. Carefully take down the rear of the headliner but do not bend too much as it may cause damage. Pull out the foaming tape from the antenna cable connection and disconnect the digital radio antenna connectors. Next, pull off the expansion sleeve and the antenna bolt. Grab the retainer on antenna shaft near the base with a pair of pliers and squeeze; note that, if this retainer is broken or damaged, the anten will work fine and be able to be reused. Take down the digital radio antenna and place the new one secured onto the roof. Route the wire pigtails through the slot of antenna shaft and install the antenna expansion sleeve and bolt and torpoly the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in). Interconnect the antenna connectors and wrap with foam tape. Mount the antenna cable connection through the AM/FM antenna module and domestically attach the antenna cable hold down clips. Aligns the head liner with the roof panel and reinstalled rear sail panels.

Install the GPS antenna to the windshield and connect the GPS antenna electrical connector.

The vehicle should be parked outside for at least five minutes.

Turn ON the radio and extend the thinnest rod section (100 rod) approximately 26 mm (1 in) above the other sections.

Install the insulator stop and the final section, then reconnect the power source and cycle the antenna mast.

Reattach the wiring harness to the retainers on the rear shelf carrier panel, connect the wiring to the rear speaker and modules, and finally reinstall the rear shelf carrier panel followed by the rear shelf trim panel.

Take out the module bracket fasteners and lower the module bracket to the rear compartment floor.

At least two more times.

Reinstall the screws to secure the GPS antenna to the electrical carrier.

Connect the coax cable to the antenna and finally, reinstall the headliner.

Ensure the alignment of the child tether attachment and the GPS bracket to the rear shelf.

Ensure the ignition is in the OFF position and disconnect the electrical connector from the antenna.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the antenna.

The bolt should be tightened to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

Connect the coaxial cable to the antenna.

Next, remove the antenna mast from the antenna base.

Use tape on the tool surface to protect the paint on the antenna mast from damage.

Mount the cellular antenna coupling box onto the glass from inside the vehicle, ensuring the connector faces the rear and applying even pressure for 30 seconds; the box should be positioned at the rear passenger side window, below the black masking and 2 inches forward of the D-pillar.

Attach the antenna mast to the antenna base, ensuring to use tape on the tool surface to protect the paint.

Install the antenna mast onto the antenna base and screw it in place.

It should be tightened to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

First, unscrew the antenna mast using a tool with tape on the surface to avoid damaging the paint.
