    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing and hub on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start hub and Wheel Bearing replacement by putting the vehicle on jacks then supporting it. Detach both the wheel speed sensor harness and the wheel assembly from their installation parts. First pull out the brake caliper and rotor before taking off the stabilizer shaft link from the lower Control Arm. Raise the lower Control Arm using a jackstand for support. Use j 42188 tool to release the connection between the Steering Knuckle's outer tie rod ball stud and lower ball joint stud. Take off the Wheel Hub bolts to pull out the hub and bearing unit from its place in the Steering Knuckle. Put the hub and bearing unit into the Steering Knuckle and bolt it in before you tighten the Wheel Hub bolts to 130 nm (96 ft lbs). Connect the lower Control Arm ball stud and lower the jackstand. Reinstall the ball stud onto the steering linkage then connect the speed sensor harness before joining the stabilizer shaft to the Control Arm. Last you place the brake rotor and caliper onto their position then mount the tire and wheel assembly before lowering the vehicle and monitoring the front wheel toe.

    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing and hub on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the front Wheel Bearing and hub replacement job by lifting the vehicle and putting it on supports before taking off the tire and wheel assembly. Unplug the Wheel Speed Sensor and remove the brake caliper apart from the rotor. Attach the jackstand under the lower Control Arm after detaching its stabilizer shaft link from this component. The j 42188 ball joint tool helps you pry apart the lower ball joint stud and outer tie rod ball stud from their connections on the Steering Knuckle. You must take out the hub and bearing assembly by loosening its wheel mounting bolts from the Steering Knuckle. Position the hub and bearing assembly into the Steering Knuckle and fasten the Wheel Hub bolts. Secure them tightly to 130 n.m (96 lb ft). Put back the lower Control Arm ball stud to the Steering Knuckle and then disconnect the jackstand. End the procedure by putting the outer tie rod ball stud in place. Reconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor wiring and place the stablizer shaft link onto the Control Arm before replacing the brake rotor and caliper components together with tire and wheel unit.
