2003 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Door Lock Actuator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear door lock actuator on 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500?
A: The replacement of the rear door lock actuator requires users to start by lifting the window and managing the door trim panel alongside removing the water deflector. The inside door lock rod requires removal from both the handle retainer clip and the manual door lock rod from the door retainer clips. Drill out the rubber plug and the outside handle rod retainer will become free so you can remove the cylinder lock rod. Take out the assembly that contains the door lock actuator along with its control rods by removing the securing bolts from the door. The electrical connector needs disconnecting from the door lock actuator while control rods require removal. To install the system first position control rods onto the assembly while connecting electrical connectors to door locks when equipped. The door lock actuator must be attached to its position on the door while connecting both the outside door handle control rod and cylinder lock rod. Install the door lock actuator using its bolts which should be secured at 9 N.m (80 lb in). The door retainer clips should be rejoined with the manual door lock assembly while the inside door lock rod must be connected to the handle retainer clip and inside door handle control rod to the lock assembly. Reinstall water deflector elements and door trim panel while you monitor all functional parts related to this work.
