    Q:
How to replace the front door lock actuator on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by raising the window glass followed by door trim panel and water deflector removal. The front Door Lock Actuator replacement requires you to separate the inside door lock rod from the handle retainer clip as well as the manual door lock rod from the door retainer clips. To disconnect the cylinder lock rod you need to remove the rubber plug that lets you release the outside handle rod retainer. The door lock mechanism needs its bolts removing before you can extract the actuator assembly from its mounting position. When applicable disconnect the electrical connector from the Door Lock Actuator and separate the control rods as an additional step. You should begin installation by connecting control rods to their assembly before you connect electrical connectors to the Door Lock Actuator if your vehicle has this feature. Install the Door Lock Actuator to its position on the door and attach the control rod to the outside handle. Then join the cylinder lock rod. Insert Door Lock Actuator mounting bolts into place while tightening them to 9 n.m torque (80 lb in). The door retainer clips accept the manual door lock while the inside Door Handle control rod connects to both the lock assembly and handle retainer clip. After installing the water deflector and door trim panel complete an inspection of all components in operation.

    Q:
How to replace the power door lock actuator in the front door on GMC Sierra 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
One must lift the window glass before taking out the door trim panel and water deflector to replace the power door lock actuator in the front door. Before moving forward the door mechanic should take out the inside door lock rod from its connection to both the handle retainer clip and manual door lock rod from its connection to door retainer clips. The removal of the rubber plug allows you to disconnect both the outside handle rod retainer from the cylinder lock rod. To replace the door lock actuator you should remove its mounting bolts from the door while pulling out all components made up of actuator and control rods. The electrical connector of the door lock actuator and control rods need to be removed when required. You should start the installation process by putting the control rods on the assembly before connecting the electrical connectors to the door lock actuator when it has them. Install the door lock actuator into the door opening while connecting outside door handle control rod and cylinder lock rod. Secure the door lock actuator bolts in place on the door using 9 N.m torque (80 lb in). You should connect three components: the manual door lock should link to the door retainer clips and both the inside door handle control rod must connect to the lock assembly along with the inside door lock rod which must link to the handle retainer clip. You should install the water deflector followed by the door trim panel before performing an inspection of all affected components.
