    Q:
How to replace the rear wheel bearing and wheel hub on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start by lifting the vehicle and supporting it before you take off the tire and wheel unit. When working disconnect the wheel speed electrical wire and the rtd position sensor link as necessary. First disconnect the brake caliper and rotor before filtering out the shock absorber solenoid electrical connector on equipped models. Sever the Tie Rod End from the suspension knuckle and take off its holding parts including the nut retainer, nut, and washer. Take the suspension knuckle apart by freeing the upper Control Arm out of it and disconnecting the lower Control Arm ball joint stud. Pull out the suspension knuckle from the vehicle before removing wheel hub mounting bolts so you can take out the hub and bearing assembly. Modeled installation demands the use of appropriate wheel hub/wheel speed sensor parts since the front and back sensors are distinct. Place the wheel hub and bearing assembly onto the suspension knuckle before tightening its wheel hub mounting bolts to 130 nm (96 ft. Lbs.). Place the lower Control Arm ball stud back into the suspension knuckle before joining it to the upper Control Arm. Put the Spindle Nut and washer onto the suspension assembly then add the retainer. Thread the outer Tie Rod End onto the suspension knuckle. Reposition the brake rotor and its caliper before docking the speed sensor and shock absorber electrical connections. Add the real-time damping position sensor link if installed before putting on the wheel and tire assembly then lowering the vehicle into place.
