You need to collect three tools to work on the valve components: spark plug port adapter (J 22794), valve spring compressor (J 38606), and Valve Stem Oil Seal installer (J 42863). Take off both Rocker Arm assemblies and spark plugs from the engine first. Turn the engine to put the piston in the serviced cylinder at its highest point to keep the valve from entering the space. The Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) must be fitted into the cylinder head before compressed air should enter the cylinder to contain the valves. The valve spring compressor tool j 38606 lets you compress the spring before taking off the valve keys, valve cap, and valve spring. The bottom of the seal requires prying to get off the Valve Stem Oil Seal. To put the oil seal properly in place let it touch part of the valve guide while using hand pressure through the Valve Stem Oil Seal installer (J 42863) to prevent damage to the oil seal. Install the Valve Stem Oil Seal with the Valve Stem Oil Seal installer j 42863 then push it down the guide channel. Use the valve spring compressor j 38606 to assemble and compress the valve parts with the valve cap and valve keys. Work through this procedure for all valves then lower cylinder pressure before taking out the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) and placing the Spark Plug and rewiring the valve rocker arms.

You need three important tools before fixing a Valve Stem Oil Seal and Valve Stem Oil Seal together with the valve spring: spark plug port adapter (J 22794), valve spring compressor (J 38606), and valve stem seal installer (J 42863). Start the repair by taking off Rocker Arm assemblies and removing the spark plugs. Turn the engine with the valve service cylinder first until its piston sits at the highest point of the cycle to avoid valve accidents. You should insert the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) into the cylinder head while compressed air fills the chamber to keep the valves shut. Drop the valve spring at its tip with the valve spring compressor (J 38606) while you remove valve keys valve cap and valve spring. Push the seal base upward toward the bottom to take out the Valve Stem Oil Seal. To install the oil seal properly, set it onto the valve stem so it contacts the valve guide before using the valve stem seal installer (J 42863) to apply gentle fitting pressure. Begin by inserting the Valve Stem Oil Seal with the valve stem seal installer (J 42863) on the valve guide. Next employ the valve spring compressor (J 38606) to set up valve spring and valve cap plus their keys. Apply these procedures to every valve before you depresurize the cylinder and detach the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794). Install the Spark Plug along with the valve Rocker Arm components.

You start servicing the valve guide seal and installing new valve stem oil seal and valve spring by first removing the valve Rocker Arm covers. You need to turn the engine to reach top dead center in the currently worked cylinder to make sure no valve drops in. First take out the Spark Plug then unmount both valve Rocker Arm and push rod. You should place the Spark Plug port adapter (J23590) in the Spark Plug hole and divert compressed air to maintain valve closure. Set the valve spring compressor (J38606) on the valve spring, activate it to compress the valve spring, and take out all parts including the valve locks, valve spring, cap, and valve stem oil seal. Check the valve spring for damage and purchase a replacement if it needs replacement. To mount the new oil seal gently push down the stem until it touches the valve guide without applying force on the tool. Use valve stem seal installation tool j42863 to push the valve stem oil seal over the valve guide. Set the valve spring compressor (J38606) back on the valve spring then push the tool down to compress it. Next install the new valve spring and cap before placing valve locks in position correctly. Drop the valve spring and take out the Spark Plug port adapter (J23590). Install the Spark Plug afterwards. Put back the valve Rocker Arm and push rod before putting the valve Rocker Arm cover(s) on top.

The initial step to fix and repair the Valve Stem Oil Seal and change both the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring is to take out the left or right valve Rocker Arm cover. Make sure the piston in the cylinder you are working on is at the top position by turning the engine. After that, take off the valve rocker arms together with the push rods, and after that remove the Spark Plug. Put the Spark Plug port adapter (J 23590) into the Spark Plug hole, then blow compressed air to close the valves securely. Fit the valve spring compressor (J 38606) onto the valve spring and compress it in order to take out the valve locks, then remove the valve spring and cap, and afterwards, remove the Valve Stem Oil Seal. Examine the valve spring for damage, and use a new one in place of an old or damaged one. After getting the new oil seal, slide it onto the stem until it touches the valve guide, and then install it with the valve stem seal installer (J 42863). Set the valve spring compressor (J 38606) onto the valve spring, squeeze it down, and fit the valve spring and cap, then the valve locks to be sure they seat properly. After loosening the valve spring, empty the air from the Spark Plug port adapter and put the Spark Plug in place. After that, fit the push rods and valve rocker arms in place, and put on the left or right valve Rocker Arm cover.

You must position the Piston at top dead center (TDC) to avoid letting the valve drop into the cylinder prior to changing the Valve Stem Oil Seal and both valve guide seal and valve spring. Start by removing the Spark Plug then cleaning around the Spark Plug valve area. Push the Spark Plug port adapter (Part J 22794) into the spark port opening until you can use compressed air to keep the valves secure. Put the valve spring compressor j 38606 on the valve spring to loosen valve locks, then remove valve cap, valve spring, and valve guide seal for inspection. Put the new valve guide seal into its seat and layer on the valve spring and valve cap on top. Use the valve spring compressor (J 38606) to compress the valve spring then install the valve locks into position with the help of grease when needed. Separate the valve spring and make sure the locking mechanism sits correctly. Following that disconnect the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) and put back the Rocker Arm along with the Spark Plug.

Remove the rocker arm assemblies and the spark plugs.

Attach the Valve Spring Compressor (J38606) to the valve spring and compress it.

Remove the camshafts and rocker arms.

Ensure the engine is rotated to top dead center for the piston in the cylinder being worked on to prevent the valve from falling inside.

Pry up on the bottom of the seal.

Remove the valve keepers, then loosen the valve spring compressor nut to take out the valve spring retainer and valve springs.

Depressurize the cylinder and remove the Spark Plug Port Adapter (J 22794).

Begin by rotating the engine to position the piston at top dead center in the cylinder being worked on to prevent the valve from falling inside.

It prevents the crankshaft from rotating, which would necessitate disassembly and reassembly of the entire camshaft timing system.

Install the J 23590 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the spark plug port and apply compressed air.

Pry up on the bottom of the seal.

Install the valve spring and cap, followed by the valve locks, ensuring they are properly seated.

The required tools are Spark Plug Port Adapter (J 23590), Valve Spring Compressor (J 38606), and Valve Seal Installer (J 42863).

Attach the Valve Spring Compressor (J 38606) to the valve spring and compress it.

Rotate the engine so that the piston in the cylinder being worked on is at top dead center to prevent the valve from falling inside the cylinder.

Reinstall the valve rocker arm, release the air pressure, remove the Spark Plug Port Adapter (J22794), and install the spark plug.

Break the spark plug loose and clean any debris from the spark plug recess.

Use the J 38606 Valve Spring Compressor (J 38606) to compress the valve spring.
