Begin the procedure by raising the vehicle and storing the differential carrier assembly fluids. Start the procedure by eliminating right side seal or bearing while performing inner Axle Shaft housing removal from the differential carrier case then removing Clutch Fork assembly parts. Lock down the inner Axle Shaft housing using a vise which should grip only the mounting flange of it. The j 29369-1 or j 29369-2 should be positioned behind the inner Axle Shaft seal or bearing and the j 2619-01 should be attached to either tool to successfully remove both elements. Installation of the right side bearing requires using j 36609 then j 8092 followed by application of j 45225 and j 8092 to install the new Axle Shaft seal. Tighten the inner Axle Shaft through careful impacts before reinstalling Clutch Fork components and the housing assembly with the inner Axle Shaft. Reinstall the bearer and seal combination on the left side of the differential carrier only when both original components were previously removed. For cases where you removed both the left side bearing and the left side seal follow the installation procedure again by correctly placing the inner Axle Shaft in the differential case side gear. To replace the left side seal properly mark the correct wheel drive shaft and inner Axle Shaft alignment before disconnecting the wheel drive shaft followed by inner Axle Shaft removal with a hammer and brass drift. Secure the Differential carrier assembly in a vise before using the j 29369-1 or j 29369-2 with the j 2619-01 to remove inner Axle Shaft seal or bearing. Once installation begins start by using j 36609 and j 8092 to fit the right side bearing and then shift to j 45225 with j 8092 for installing the new Axle Shaft seal. When ready insert the inner Axle Shaft slowly with a careful impact then reinstall the Clutch Fork parts before attaching the assembly containing the inner Axle Shaft to the Differential carrier case. After proper inner Axle Shaft seating in the Differential case side gear, install the left side bearing and seal in the same sequence as the right side. Begin by installing the front Differential carrier assembly and add the correct fluid to complete the operation while lowering the vehicle.

By using the Differential Seal Installer - Inner (J45177), the Camshaft Bearing Service Set (J33049), and a hammer.

Reattach the tire and wheel assembly.

Install the wheel speed sensor and brake hose mounting bracket bolt to the steering knuckle, tightening the brake hose clip bolt to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.), then reinstall the rotor, tire, and wheel before lowering the vehicle.

Raise the vehicle and remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Take off the rear axle housing cover and remove the axle shaft.

Take out the wheel hub, bearing, and splash shield.

Lower the vehicle.

Reinstall the differential carrier assembly.

Tighten the wheel hub to knuckle bolts to 180 Nm (133 ft. lbs.).

Reinstall the axle shaft.

Take out the inner axle shaft and housing assembly from the differential carrier case assembly, followed by the clutch fork assembly components and the inner axle shaft from the inner axle shaft housing, which should be clamped in a vise only on the mounting flange.

Use a suitable seal remover.

Insert the Camshaft Bearing Service Set (J 33049) into the axle tube and through the axle shaft seal, holding the expander assembly nut while turning the driving bar clockwise until snug against the seal. Drive out the seal using the Camshaft Bearing Service Set (J 33049) and a hammer.

Remove the differential carrier assembly and secure it in a vise, then remove the inner axle shaft with a hammer and brass drift, followed by using the J29369-1 or J29369-2 and the J2619-01 to remove the inner axle shaft seal or bearing.

Assemble the expander assembly onto the driver bar extension and then onto the driver bar.

Reinstall the axle shaft and the tire and wheel assembly.

Use the appropriate bushing and bearing remover (J 29369-1 or J 29369-2) behind the inner axle shaft seal or bearing, then attach the slide hammer (J 2619-01).

Drive out the seal using the J 33049 and a hammer.

Turn the driving bar clockwise until the expanding driver is snug against the axle shaft seal, then drive out the seal using the Camshaft Bearing Service Set (J 33049) and a hammer.

The wheel driveshaft assembly retaining nut and washer.

Utilize the J 45857 and J 2619-01.

The necessary tools are J 8092 Universal Driver Handle, J 2619-01 Slide Hammer, J 29369-1 Bushing and Bearing Remover, J 29369-2 Bushing and Bearing Remover (2-3 inch), J 36609 Axle Tube Bearing Installer, and J 45225 Axle Seal Installer.

Use the J 29369-1 or J 29369-2 as necessary, followed by the J 2619-01 to remove the inner axle shaft seal or bearing.
