Starter

To replace the Starter motor, one should first disconnect the negative Battery Cable. Next, disconnect the left Catalytic Converter, then the Starter heat shield bolt and shield. Then remove the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut and the battery positive junction block cable terminal from the Starter. Loosen the Starter bolts and pull out the Starter from the engine, disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector. For installation, install the Starter and fasten it with bolts and tighten bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the Starter and connect the battery positive junction block cable terminal to the Starter. Install the bat terminal nut of the Starter solenoid and tighten it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Next, install Starter heat shield and bolt, tighten bolt to 7 n.m (62 lb in), then the left Catalytic Converter. Finally, reconnect the negative Battery Cable.

To replace the Starter motor of v6 then first turn off the ignition and remove battery negative cable. Remove the heat shield of the Starter and then, lift and support the vehicle. Next, disengage the knock sensor connector, then take off the positive nut from the battery and the engine harness from the Starter Solenoid. Afterwards, unscrew the bolts holding the Starter motor and put the Starter motor off. For the installation, first, you have to place the Starter motor back to its position and make sure that you install Starter motor mounting bolts and only tighten them to 58 nm (43 lb ft). Make sure you reconnect the battery positive cable and engine harness connector to the Starter and tighten nut to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Mount the engine harness connector to the Starter Solenoid, and reconnect the Starter heat shield, fastening the bolt to 7 nm (62 lb in) before connecting the knock sensor connector.

The first step to replace the pg260 f1 Starter motor includes disconnecting the black ground cable from the battery. The vehicle needs to be elevated before technicians remove the radiator air baffle assembly from its position. The procedure to replace the Starter motor starts by switching off ignition and removing the negative Battery Cable. Proceed by removing the Secondary Air Injection Pump next. Start by disconnecting the Starter at the positive cable nut with terminal followed by removing the engine wiring harness nut along with engine harness terminal . Begin by detaching the bolts securing the Starter then remove the Starter from inside the motor compartment. During installation position the Starter motor correctly while fastening its mounting bolts to 58 nm (43 lb ft) torque specifications. Tighten the battery positive cable terminal and nut on the solenoid to 15 nm (9 lb ft) before torquing the engine harness terminal and its nut to 6 nm (53 lb in). Place the Secondary Air Injection Pump together with its bracket before you connect the battery negative cable.

Before starting the Starter motor replacement service you must disconnect the battery negative cable followed by removing the supercharger assembly. Start by unconnecting the battery positive cable from the Starter along with the wire from the s terminal on the Starter. First remove the Starter motor bolts then extract the Starter motor from its position. Begin by installing the Starter motor along with its bolts while tightening them to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Use a wire with a nut to connect the s terminal of the Starter while tightening the nut to 4 n.m (35 lb in). Connect the battery positive cable along with its nut to the Starter terminal while tightening the securing nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The installation process concludes by putting back the supercharger assembly followed by reconnecting the battery negative cable.

The operation requires removal of the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the generator control module coolant pump while also undoing the generator control module coolant pump bolt. Secure the positive Battery Cable lead onto the Starter motor before tightening the positive Battery Cable to Starter motor nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Secure the generator control module coolant pump while disconnected from the electrical connector of the engine harness so you can reposition it toward the Oil Pan where its anti-rotation tab fits into the Oil Pan hole. Installation requires applying 22 n.m (16 lb ft) of torque to the generator control module coolant pump bolt followed by connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the generator control module coolant pump. After lowering the vehicle complete the procedure by connecting the negative Battery Cable.

The replacement process starts with disconnecting the battery's negative cable. Proceed by removing the left Catalytic Converter component. First remove the Starter heat shield bolt and shield while next disassembling the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut and the battery positive junction block cable terminal. The Starter's removal procedure requires the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut and the battery positive junction block cable terminal to be detached before disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the Starter. Beginning with Starter installation attach the engine wiring harness electrical connector before joining the battery positive junction block cable terminal to the Starter device. Fasten the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut installation while applying 25 nm (18 lb ft) torque. Place back the Starter heat shield and bolt before you tighten the bolt to 7 nm (62 lb in) then put the left Catalytic Converter into place. Reestablish the connection of the negative Battery Cable last.

To replace the Starter motor (LAF) one will first remove the negative Battery Cable. Second, eliminate the positive air pump vacuum brake booster (2.4L & 3.0L engines). Lift the vehicle, remove the engines harness connector sticking out from the Starter. Depress when removing the Starter when removing the Starter solenoid terminal nut and the Starter solenoid wire terminal from the Starter plus the positive Battery Cable terminal (DeCristofaro, 2016). Drain the bolts that are attached to the Starter and remove the Starter. For installation, place the Starter to the engine while maintaining precautions on the fasteners. Put in the Starter bolts, tighten them thereby 40 nm (30 lb ft). Reconnect the Starter solenoid wire terminal and the positive Battery Cable terminal with the anti-rotational tab in the correct indexing slot. Mount and tighten the Starter solenoid terminal nut to 17 nm (13 lb.ft.), and attach the engine harness connector to the Starter. Replace the power vacuum brake booster pump for both types of engines, lower the vehicle and the last one is connecting the negative Battery Cable.

Position the starter to the engine block and install the starter bolts, tightening them to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

Install the starter motor and secure it with the starter motor bolts, tightening them to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

Disconnect the battery negative cable.

Install the starter motor and its mounting bolts.

Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the starter.

The starter solenoid nut.

Tighten it to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
