How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring replacement by first removing both valve Rocker Arm cover and then all necessary valve rocker arms and spark plugs. The Spark Plug port adapter j22794 fits into the Spark Plug hole with a shop air hose connected to keep the valves steady under compressed air pressure. Embed a flat washer on the bolt before putting the bolt into the valve Rocker Arm bolt hole that needs the valve spring removal. Take safety precautions because valve spring compressors need to apply strong force against the valve springs to avoid harm. Use the valve spring compressor (J5892-D) by inserting its tapered edge under the washer on the valve Rocker Arm bolt and gently apply force to expose the valve keys. To stop valve spring slippage use complete jaw engagement on valve spring compressor j38606 before servicing and replace the valve spring if scratching occurs. After dropping the valve keys you can ease valve spring tension and easily remove the j5892-d or j38606 compressor then fit valve spring cap and valve spring followed by Valve Stem Oil Seal . Reinstall the valve spring and spring cap onto the valve stem. Place the valve seals in their original positions. Turn back to the j5892-d tool to compress the valve spring while you can also use the j38606 if needed because of space constraints. Insert the valve stem keys with grease and let go of valve spring pressure very slowly to maintain good key positioning to prevent harm to engine parts. Verify the position of the j5892-d or j38606 while inspecting the valve stem key placement in its upper recess. Use a plastic-headed hammer to gently tap the valve stem end if desired. At last put back the spark plugs plus tighten valve rocker arms onto cylinder head while installing the valve Rocker Arm cover.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring replacement process starts by taking off the valve Rocker Arm cover and then continuing to remove appropriate valve rocker arms and spark plugs. Attach the j 22794 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) to your Spark Plug hole, run a shop air supply hose, and blow compressed air to immobilize the valves. Start by removing the valve Rocker Arm bolt then place a flat washer onto it and reinstall the valve Rocker Arm bolt into the spring's operating hole. Handle valve spring compressors carefully because compressed valve springs generate significant spring tension. Operate the j 5892-d (Valve Spring Compressor) by slipping its slotted end under the washer on the valve Rocker Arm bolt then apply continuous pressure to access the valve keys. Use the j 38606 (Valve Spring Compressor) if complete valve spring engagement cannot be achieved. Use the existing tools to remove the valve keys then carefully let go of valve spring tension before removing either the j 5892-d or j 38606. Begin by first removing the valve spring cap then the valve spring and finally the Valve Stem Oil Seal. First select the correct Valve Stem Oil Seal then coat both the valve guide and stem with clean engine oil before placing the seal onto the stem. Use the j 42073 (Valve Stem Seal Installer) to position the Valve Stem Oil Seal on the valve guide with a 1 - 2 mm distance between the seal and the guide. Position the valve spring and valve spring cap followed by another compression step using the j 5892-d or j 38606 valve spring compressor tool. Insert the valve stem o-ring seal with valve stem keys and keep the keys in place by applying grease. Slowly release valve spring pressure until the keys stay in position correctly. The j 5892-d and j 38606 should be removed at this point. Conclude the process by checking the valve stem key seating. When necessary tap the stem and remove the j 22794. Then fully install the spark plugs along with valve rocker arms and valve Rocker Arm cover.

    Q:
What tools are required to service and repair the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and replace the Valve Stem Oil Seal on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To service and repair the valve spring and replace the Valve Stem Oil Seal, the following tools are required: service of the valve spring requires j22794 Spark Plug port adapter and j38606 valve spring compressor and j42078 Valve Stem Oil Seal installer. First disconnect the Spark Plug wire at the Spark Plug while twisting each plug wire boot by 1/2 turn then gently extract the wire through the boot. Engine temperature at room level enables Spark Plug removal after turning each plug 1 or 2 rotations counterclockwise and cleaning the Spark Plug with brushing or compressed air until complete removal. Use the Spark Plug port adapter (J22794) to insert into the Spark Plug hole. Then connect an air hose for compressed air to keep the valves stationary. The valve spring compressor (J38606) helps compress the valve spring until you can remove the valve stem keys and then slowly release the valve spring tension before removing the compressor. The valve spring cap must be unscrewed while you remove the valve spring and Valve Stem Oil Seal as well as the shim from the assembly. During installation start by cleaning the cylinder head valve spring seat along with the shim area before applying clean engine oil to both the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal. Then install the Valve Stem Oil Seal followed by the shim. To install the valve spring and valve spring cap position the valve spring compressor (J38606) to compress the spring while inserting the valve keys seated in their proper groove on the valve stem. Use grease to hold the keys in position. Use the valve spring compressor to lower pressure before removing the compressor device and hit the valve stem's end using a plastic-faced hammer as needed to correctly position the valve keys. Finally, remove the Spark Plug port adapter (J22794), hand start the Spark Plug, and tighten it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.)after setting the Spark Plug wires at the Ignition Coil and Spark Plug the installation process should finish with pushing each boot sideward to confirm proper fitment. The last step involves reinstalling the valve Rocker Arm.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring, remove firstly the valve Rocker Arm and cover, then the required valve rocker arms and the spark plugs. Attach a shop air supply hose to apply compressed air by holding the valves in the open position using Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) in the Spark Plug hole. Remove a bolt from valve Rocker Arm, then put a flat washer onto bolt, and then bolt into vazle Rocker Arm bolt hole for vazle spring to be removed from. Take care with compressed valve springs, as they have high tension. The valve spring compressor (J 5892-D) will compress the valve spring using its slotted end that hooks under the washer on the valve Rocker Arm bolt and steady pressure until the valve keys are accessible. Safe enough, make use of valve spring compressor (J 38606) if required in order to achieve a total engagement on to the valve spring. Take off the valve keys, gently relieve the valve spring tension, and then get rid of the compressor tools. Then, take out the valve spring cap and valve spring with Valve Stem Oil Seal. Mount the valve into the correct valve guide, identify the correct Valve Stem Oil Seal, and apply the oil to the valve guide as well as the Valve Stem Oil Seal. Mount the Valve Stem Oil Seal unto the valve guide using valve stem seal installer (J42073) ensuring of a space of 1 - 2mm between the seal and the guide. Put back the valve spring and valve spring cap and re-compress the valve spring using valve spring compressor (J 5892-D) or (J 38606) if necessary. In order to install the valve stem o-ring seal and valve stem keys, grease should be used to secure the keys. Gradually reduce the valve spring pressure as long as the keys are seated and remove the compressor tools. Finally, ensure the valve stem keys are installed, and either tap the valve stem or remove Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794), and then install the spark plugs, valve rocker arms, and valve Rocker Arm cover.

    Q:
How to replace the valve stem oil seal and valve spring with a Rocker Shaft Spring Kit on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
For Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring replacement you need first to take out needed valve rocker arms and spark plugs. Put the j 22794 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the Spark Plug hole then attach a shop air supply line and blow compressed air to keep the valves stable. To take out one valve spring you need to place a flat washer onto the bolt first then fasten the bolt and Rocker Arm. Watch out because strong pressure in the valve spring may launch it out forcefully. Apply the j 5892-d (Valve Spring Compressor) to the washer on the Rocker Arm bolt with its slotted end before applying steady pressure to the valve spring until you can access the valve keys. The j 38606 tool must be used when valve spring engagement needs adjustment. Pull off valve keys using correct procedures while gently letting tension off valve springs and taking out both j 5892-d and j 38606 tools. First you must pull out the Valve Stem Oil Seal and then continue with the valve spring and valve spring cap. Put the valve through its designated guide and add the suitable Valve Stem Oil Seal during preparation. Both parts should receive lubrication before any other steps. Use the j 42073 (Valve Stem Oil Seal Installer) to place the Valve Stem Oil Seal on the guide at 1-2 mm from the guide surface. After adding the valve spring cap and valve spring put the j 5892-d over them to compress the spring until you reach this key valve position. Use the j 38606 as your alternative tool when valve clearance becomes narrower than standard specifications. Place the valve stem o-ring seal and keys in position before you release valve pressure. Keep everything in position by using grease. Check the valve stem keys are in position before taking out the j 5892-d or j 38606. Tap the valve stem lightly if required. As the last step put back the valve rocker arms replace the spark plugs and install the j 22794.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace valve-stem oil seal and bring back the vehicle valve spring replace the required value rocker arms and spark plugs first. Drive the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) into the Spark Plug hole; connect a shop air supply hose and apply compressed air to let the valves stay in position. Mount a flat washer on the bolt you uninstalled, then bolt it and Rocker Arm to cylinder head on the valve spring removed. Be careful as compressed valve springs are under high tension with valve spring compressor, which may injure the person due to misuse. Exert steady pressure while compressing the valve spring by hooking its slotted end underneath the washer on the Rocker Arm bolt using the valve spring compressor (J 5892-D) until the valve keys can be reached. If required, valve spring compressor (J 38606) should be used to provide absolute engagement on the valve spring. Disassemble the valve keys and carefully release the valve spring tension, and remove the j 5892-d or j 38606 subsequently and removed valve spring cap and valve spring. Choose the correct Valve Stem Oil Seal, lubricate it along with the valve guide using clean oil from the engine and install it on the valve guide using Valve Stem Oil Seal installer (J 42073). It is necessary that there should be a 1 - 2 mm gap between the base edge of the Valve Stem Oil Seal and the valve guide. Reinstall the valve spring and valve spring cap and then compress the valve spring for the second time using the j 5892-d or j 38606 in those cases. Place the valve stem o-ring seal and valve stem keys with the help of grease to hold the keys on place. Gradually let the pressure off on the valve spring while making sure that the keys do not come off and remove the j 5892-d or j 38606. Finally, verify the valve stem keys are in the upper groove of the valve stem and tap if necessary, then pull out the j 22794, reinstall the spark plugs, and valve rocker arms.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and Valve Stem Oil Seal on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
First remove the valve Rocker Arm cover and necessary valves from the engine while taking out all needed spark plugs. Load the j 22794 Spark Plug port adapter into the Spark Plug opening to maintain valve position while you attach a compressed air hose and provide air pressure to hold the valves. Place a bolt in the valve Rocker Arm bolt hole with a flat washer installed over a bolt before positioning it inside the valve Rocker Arm bolt opening. Work safely with valve springs since they hold much force; accidents can harm your body when you disturb the tension. Thread the slotted end of the j 5892-d valve spring compressor under the washer on the valve Rocker Arm bolt and gently apply pressure to make the valve keys accessible. The j 38606 valve spring compressor (J 38606) should totally fit onto the valve spring to avoid movement and damage during operation. Take off valve keys while reducing tension on the spring by the j 5892-d or j 38606 tool. After removing the parts you need to take out the valve spring cap first then the valve spring before you take off the valve stem oil seal. Place new valve seals first on the valve stem and add the valve spring afterward before installing the valve spring cap. When it comes to pressing the valve spring use j 5892-d again. J 38606 serves as an alternative option when space is constrained. Insert the valve stem keys into their spaces while pinning them in place with grease and lower the valve springs steadily to prevent engine parts from getting damaged. Take away the j 5892-d or j 38606 from the valve stem then check if the keys have their correct position. Tap the valve stem end lightly with a plastic-headed hammer if you need to. Put in spark plugs and valve rocker arms after you place the j 22794 as the last step.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process to change valve stem oil seals begins with disconnecting the Spark Plug wire and removing the valve Rocker Arm. Twist boot housing 1/2 turn but pull only the boot while disconnecting the Spark Plug wire. After loosening spark plugs 1 or 2 turns while engine stays cool, clean debris away with air or brush before taking out plugs from Cylinder Head. Attach the j 22794 Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) into the Spark Plug hole and steady the valves with compressed air from an Air Hose. To remove valve springs push the j 38606 valve spring compressor (J 38606) on while softening the valve springs. You can then clear out the valve stem keys once the valve springs become easy to release. Pull out valve spring compressor j 38606 then take off valve spring cap and valve spring from the shaft. Additionally, disconnect the Valve Stem Oil Seal and shim (1, 5). Clean both valve spring areas before putting engine oil on the valve guide and stem oil seal. Set the valve stem seal and shim (1, 5) in their designated places. Afterward place the valve spring and valve spring cap on their seating and press the valve spring using the j 38606 tool. Use grease to set the valve keys onto the valve stem base while pushing them into their correct positioning in the stem grooves. Let go of the valve spring pressure carefully while keeping the valve keys in position to remove the j 38606. Stroke the valve stem tip gently with a plastic head hammer to position the keys if needed. To restart the Spark Plug system you need to take out j 22794 from its port and manually rotate the Spark Plug until reaching 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs. Torque). Lastly put the Spark Plug Wires onto both the Ignition Coil and Spark Plug then check their connections before putting back the valve Rocker Arm.

How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Roader arm and free the Spark Plug wire at the Spark Plug by twisting the plug wire boot 1/2 turn and pulling only the boot. Remove the spark plugs from the Cylinder Head whenever the engine is not at room temperature by loosening them for one or two turn and then brush or air blast out any dirt or debris before pulling it out. Hook up the Air Hose to the Spark Plug component of the adapter (J22794), place the adapter into the Spark Plug hole while you inject compressed air into the adapter to secure the valve. Utilize the valve spring compressor (J38606) to compress the valve spring and pull out the valve stem keys and slow release the tension of the valve spring. Take out the valve spring (J38604), the valve spring cap (J38605), the Valve Stem Oil Seal, and the shim (1, 5) after removing the valve spring compressor (J38606). Clean the Cylinder Head valve spring seat or shim place, and lubricate the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal applying clean engine oil, and install the Valve Stem Oil Seal and shim (1,5). Next, install the valve spring (and the valve spring cap), compress the spring with the valve spring compressor (J38606) so that you can instill the keys on the valve spring, place grease on them to keep them in place and ensure they snap in the groove of the valve stem. Gradually reduce the pressure on the valve spring and ensure that the valve keys remain in position and remove the valve spring compressor (J38606). Then, tap the end of the valve stem using a plastic faced hammer to seat the keys if it's needed. Drop the Spark Plug port adapter (J22794) from the Spark Plug port, hand rotating the Spark Plug, and tightening it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). At last, connect the Spark Plug wire to the Spark Plug and check the wires to ensure that they are properly installed by pushing on each boot sideways, then replace any loose boot, then install a Rocker Arm.

    Q:
How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First step to switch Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring involves taking off the valve Rocker Arm. After turing each boot on the Spark Plug wire half a turn you can safely uncover its end by griping just the boot. Take spark plugs out from the Cylinder Head when engine is cool but still operable, twist them 1 to 2 turns then clear all debris around holes. Insert the j 22794 tool through the Spark Plug hole to retain the valves and link an Air Hose before blowing compressed air to position them. Rest the valve spring with the tool (J 38606) before taking off the valve stem keys and slowly letting go of the spring pressure. Take off the valve spring tool (J 38606), liner spring cap, valve spring, and Valve Stem Oil Seal together with shim number one and number five. Carefully clean around the Cylinder Head valve spring and shim locations before putting 0.15 millimeters (1.5 thousandths of an inch) of oil into the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal. Then insert the new components as follows (1, 5): valve stem oil seal and shim. Start by placing the valve spring cap and valve spring on their respective positions. Then use (J 38606) to compress the valve spring before installing the valve keys and applying grease for support as you confirm they contact valve stem grooves. Push the valve spring compressor tool away to free valve spring force. After taking out the (J 38606) component you must hit the valve stem tip slowly with a plastic finish hammer to guarantee all keys align. Attach the (J 22794) in the Spark Plug channel and initiate the plug by hand. Then torque the plug to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Put the Spark Plug wires back into place by inserting them at both the ignition coil and Spark Plug. Also push in each wire boot toward the side and replace any removed pieces. At last install the valve Rocker Arm.

    Q:
How to Install a Rocker Shaft Spring Kit on a GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to take off the Rocker Arm before replacing both valve parts. Loosen each Spark Plug wire boot by turning it halfway while pulling on the boot alone. Loosen spark plugs from the Cylinder Head when engine is at room temperature before cleaning dirt with air or brush. Turn spark plugs one or two turns to detach them before brushing or air blasting them free. Set the j 22794 into the Spark Plug hole and secure an Air Hose while using compressed air to hold the valves stationary. Use tool (J 38606) to tension valve springs before taking out valve stem keys (225) and letting spring tension off slowly. Degas the engine by first taking out the valve spring compressor (J 38606), valve spring cap (224), valve spring (223), valve stem oil seal (222), and valve (228). Brush oils through the valve spring seat region of the Cylinder Head before applying clean engine oil on both the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal. Put the valves (228) into the right port before setting the Valve Stem Oil Seal (222), valve spring (223), and valve spring cap (224). Use the (J 38606) tool to compress the valve spring before inserting the keys into their grooves on the valve stem and keeping them in place with grease. Lift valve spring pressure while monitoring key position. Then take out the tool and tap the valve stem tip with a soft-headed hammer to better place keys if needed. Apply the (J 22794) into the Spark Plug port and turn the key by hand until the plug fires. Then tighten the plug to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Push the spark plugs directly into their connections at the Ignition Coil and Spark Plug. Check wire installation by pressing each boot from side to side then replace any loose boots. Finally, install the Rocker Arm.

How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
First detach the valve Rocker Arm cover then take out valve rocker arms and spark plugs before Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring replacement. Insert the j 22794 tool into the Spark Plug hole then link a shop hose and blow compressed air to immobilize valve movement. To take the old valve spring out you must first remove its bolt then install a flat washer on top of the bolt before putting it back in the valve Rocker Arm bolt hole. When compressing valve springs with the spring compressor tool handle them carefully because the setup produces extreme pressure that forces springs out forcefully when not managed properly. Push the j 5892-d compressor on the slotted section under the valve Rocker Arm bolt washer then apply steady force until you see the valve keys. Hold the j 38606 tightly onto the valve spring to avoid movement during compression work since any scratching will require a new valve spring. Use pliers to take out the valve keys then release valve spring tension only before you remove j 5892-d or j 38606. After loosening the valve spring cap and spring you must uninstall the Valve Stem Oil Seal. You should first set valve seals on top of the valve stem, put the spring below them and the spring cap over them. When space is tight you should employ the j 38606 to set valve spring pressure instead. Use valve stem grease to set the keys in place while you release the valve spring pressure slowly to prevent engine harm. Check the valve stem keys position then press the j 5892-d with light force until the keys lock in place. If needed tap the valve stem end gently with a plastic-headed hammer. End with the j22794 then install the spark plugs valve rocker arms and valve Rocker Arm cover.

How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on GMC Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Valve Stem Oil Seal and also the valve spring, start with the removal of the valve Rocker Arm cover then also, the required valve Rocker Arm and spark plugs. Insert the j 22794 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the hole of the spark plugs and then attach a shop air supply hose for compressions air forcing the valves in place. A bolt from a valve Rocker Arm applied, place a flat washer on the bolt, and then screw the bolt into the valve Rocker Arm bolt hole for the valve spring requiring removal. Be careful with compressed valve springs that are under high tension. Compress the valve spring using the j 5892-d (Valve Spring Compressor) by placing its slotted end under the washer on the valve Rocker Arm bolt and apply steady pressure until the valve keys are accessible. If the above shader doesn't fit, then use the j 38606 (Valve Spring Compressor) instead, ensuring it has its jaws fully in contact to avoid scratching the valve spring. Removal of the valve keys, then releasing of valve spring tension, then the removal of the j 5892-d or j 38606, then the removal of the valve spring cap and valve spring. For installation, install the valve into the correct valve guide, choose a correct Valve Stem Oil Seal, lubricate the seal and valve guide with clean engine oil, and install the Valve Stem Oil Seal using the j 42073 (Valve Stem Seal Installer), tapping it until it bottoms against the valve spring seat while maintaining a 1-2 mm clearance between seal and valve guide. Finally, go ahead and install the valve spring and the valve spring cap followed by compressing the valve spring once more with your j 5892-d or j 38606, as necessary. Install the valve stem o-ring seal and valve stem keys with grease in place on the keys, and carefully relieve the valve spring pressure to make the keys seat in the correct location in the valve spring cap.
