Valve Springs

You must place the Piston in the working cylinder at top dead center position to avoid valve damage before you start replacing the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring. First free the Spark Plug and clean its seating area before taking out the plug. You must not touch the Spark Plug until it cools down. Mount the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) over the Spark Plug opening before positioning compressed air through the valve holders. Put the valve spring compressor (J 38606) on the valve spring and unlatch the Rocker Arm. Press the valve spring compressor j 38606 down to reduce valve spring tension and take out the valve locks, valve cap, and valve spring while looking for spring damage. Replace the valve spring if necessary. Install the Valve Stem Oil Seal/spring seat now that you have removed the spring oil seal. Use a suitable driver to press the part onto the valve guide boss. Soak the valve locks in grease and press them onto the valve using the valve spring compressor (J 38606) after spring installation. Set the valve spring compressor tool (J 38606) to release the valve spring and confirm that valve locks sit correctly in position. Reconnect the Rocker Arm then lower air pressure and put the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) back before installing the Spark Plug.

In an effort to replace the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring, you should commence by removing the Rocker Arm and the Spark Plug. Before the removal of the valve keys, rotate the engine with this aim of ensuring that the Piston gets into top dead center (TDC) so that the valve can not drop inside the cylinder. Second, install Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) on the Spark Plug port and use compressed air to hold the valves in position. Remove the valve keys and the valve spring cap, and then the valve spring itself using the valve spring compressor (J 38606) compressed the valve spring. Check for damage on valve spring and change if necessary; remove spring seat/valve stem oil seal. In the process of installation, press the Valve Stem Oil Seal/spring seat on to the valve guide boss with a suitable driver and then install valve spring and valve spring cap then the top of valve stem. Compress the valve spring using the valve spring compressor (J 38606), and then install the valve keys and fix them with grease if it is required. Squeeze the valve spring by removing the valve spring compressor (J 38606) and check if the valve keys are placed correctly. Eventually, let off the pressure from the air and pull out the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) and reinstall the value Rocker Arm and the said Spark Plug.

Before you work on fitting a new valve stem oil seal and spring you must first take off the valve Rocker Arm cover set. First remove the Rocker Arm cover then take out the Rocker Arm and push rod before working on the Spark Plug. Insert the j 23590 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into its place and use a compressed air tool to stop valves from moving. Set the j 38606 (Valve Spring Compressor) to the valve spring and actuate it. You must first release its locks before pulling out the valve spring and cap and then removing the valve stem oil seal. Check for damages on the valve spring such as bends, cracks or breaks and order a replacement part if needed. Begin by placing the oil seal onto the stem until it touches the valve guide. Do not exert excessive force as this can harm the components. Drive the j 42863 valve stem seal installation tool onto the valve guide until it reaches the valve spring seating. Return the j 38606 to its placement on the valve spring while holding it compressed. Set the valve assembly in place beginning from the valve spring to locks making sure all components properly interact. Lower the valve spring then lower the air pressure while pulling out the j 23590 tool. Put the Spark Plug back while placing the push rod then valve Rocker Arm and valve Rocker Arm cover into position.

Service the valve guide seal using tdc knowledge to block the valve inside the cylinder from dropping by ensuring the Piston reaches its top position. You can detach the Spark Plug using Spark Plug port adapter j22794 then clean any material found in the recess and do not remove the Spark Plug when the engine reaches high temperature. Put the j22794 spark port adapter into the Spark Plug space and let compressed air keep the valves steady. After removing the Rocker Arm, put the j38606 valve spring compressor on the valve spring and decrease its pressure to take out the valve locks, valve cap, and valve spring. Check the valve spring condition and replace it if defected prior to removing the spring seal and valve stem oil seal. After positioning the j22794 on the valve guide boss apply a suitable driver to correctly set the valve stem oil seal/spring seat. Then install valve spring and cap. Put the valve in its compressed position using the j38606 tool while adding valve locks onto their holders. Reinsert the valve spring afterward. Position the valve locks correctly after ensuring they are seated properly then put the Rocker Arm in place. You should end by reducing air pressure and taking out the j22794 tool before adding the Spark Plug into position.

You need to place the Piston at its highest point in the cylinder to avoid the valve entering the chamber when replacing the valve guide seal and valve stem oil seal along with valve spring. Never take off or adjust the Spark Plug during engine hot condition. Seize and clear the Spark Plug opening of all debris before you take out the plug. Put the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) into the Spark Plug port to hold the valves open before applying compressed air. Push down the Rocker Arm after unbolting it then squeeze the valve spring with the valve spring compressor (J 38606). Check the valve spring condition and obtain new components when needed while removing valve keys valve cap and valve spring. Extract the spring seat along with the valve stem oil seal. Press the valve stent oil seal using an appropriate tool over the guide boss and put the valve spring together with valve cap. Fit the valve keys back into position using grease and then put together the valve spring using the valve spring compressor (J 38606). Remove the valve spring compressor (J 38606) and let the valve spring free up. Check that the valve keys remain in their slots as they should. Put back the valve Rocker Arm and release pressure before detaching the Spark Plug port adapter tool (J 22794). Finally, install the Spark Plug.

Ensure the valve locks are seated properly.

Do not loosen or remove the spark plug.

Remove the valve locks, followed by the valve cap and valve spring, and inspect the valve spring for damage.

Reinstall the valve rocker arm and the spark plug.

First, remove the rocker arm and the spark plug.

The Spark Plug Port Adapter (J 22794) is installed into the spark plug port, and compressed air is applied.

Use the Valve Spring Compressor (J 38606) to compress the valve spring, then remove the valve locks, followed by the valve spring and cap, and finally the valve stem oil seal.

Release the air pressure, remove the Spark Plug Port Adapter (J 22794), and then reinstall the rocker arm and spark plug.

Compress the valve spring again with the J 38606 or J 5892-D.

Remove the old valve stem oil seal and install the new one using the provided plastic sleeve, pressing it over the valve guide boss.

Release the valve spring with the J 38606, ensuring the valve locks are properly seated.

Attach the Valve Spring Compressor (J38606) to the valve spring and compress it to remove the valve locks, followed by the valve cap and valve spring.

Break the spark plug loose and clean the spark plug recess area.

Compress the valve spring again with the Valve Spring Compressor and install the valve locks, using grease if necessary.

Remove the valve keys, valve cap, and valve spring, inspecting the spring for damage and replacing it if necessary.
