    Q:
What Tools Are Required to Service and Repair the Rear Wheel Bearing and Oil Seal on a 9.5 Inch Axle on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
A set of required tools for servicing the 9.5 inch axle comprises four tools required for 9.5 inch axle service include universal driver handle (J 8092) and Wheel Bearing installer (J 29709) and Wheel Bearing remover (J 29712) and axle seal installer (J 29713). Universal driver handle (J 8092), Wheel Bearing installer (J 29709), Wheel Bearing remover (J 29712), and axle seal installer (J 29713). Start by elevating the vehicle right before you take off the tire and wheel assembly along with the rear axle housing cover. The Wheel Bearing remover (J 29712) will extract the Axle Shaft seal and bearing from the axle housing after removing the Axle Shaft. The Wheel Bearing installer (J 29709) with universal driver handle (J 8092) should guide the installation of the Axle Shaft bearing into the axle housing until the tool reaches its lowest position. Drive the new Axle Shaft seal into position with the axle seal installer (J 29713) until the tube perfectly aligns with the bull's eye. Follow the rear axle housing cover and tire and wheel assembly installation with the Axle Shaft. You should lower the vehicle after finishing the axle fluid filling process with correct lubricating materials.

    Q:
How to replace the rear wheel bearing on Cadillac Escalade ESV? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the rear Wheel Hub and bearing, first, lift the vehicle and remove the tire, and wheel off. Then, disconnect the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle and take out the brake rotor. Next carefully go ahead and remove the axle nut dust cover on the wheel drive shaft. After this remove the cotter pins along with the wheel drive shaft retainer that is attached to the wheel drive shaft retaining nut. Unfasten Wheel Hub and bearing retaining bolts and disconnect the wheel drive shaft and axel hub and bearing, by use of the axle remover (J 45859). Following that, remove the Wheel Hub and bearing from the vehicle. For installation, mount the new Wheel Hub and bearing onto the vehicle by fastening it using the retaining bolts with a torque of 140 nm (103 ft. Lbs.). Afterwards, the wheel drive shaft retaining nut is to be installed and tightened to 250 nm (184 ft. Lbs.) followed by the retainer and the cotter pin to the wheel drive shaft nut. Lastly, install the dust cap, reinstall the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle, reinstall the brake rotor, put the tire and wheel back on, and lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing, hub, and seal on a rear-wheel drive on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
When working on a rear-wheel drive vehicle Wheel Hub, bearing, and seal replacement starts with raising and supporting the vehicle and then moving onto removing the tire, wheel, and rotor. Remove both Wheel Hub and bearing 15-series bolts while also taking out the Wheel Hub and bearing bolts from the 25/35 series. Disassemble the Wheel Hub and bearing as well as the splash shield and extract the o-ring seal that protects the Steering Knuckle bore of 25/35 series models. Take out the Wheel Speed Sensor bolt then check the o-ring seal condition in the 25/35 series. Replace the o-ring if you find nicks, cracks, dry or brittle material, or evidence of compressing. You need to remove all dirt from the Steering Knuckle bore and hub before putting Wheel Bearing grease or equivalent lubricant inside both parts. Install an o-ring onto the Steering Knuckle of the 25/35 series by adding the Wheel Speed Sensor bolt next and tightening this bolt to 13 foot pounds torque. The vehicle requires 25/35-series components including the Wheel Hub and bearing shaft and splash shield first and the same Wheel Hub bearing and splash shield second for the 15-series. Secure the 15-series bearing mounting bolts and the Wheel Hub bolts for the 15-series while adding Wheel Hub and 25/35 series bearing bolts and tightening these bolts to 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the wheel components after you apply the brake hose clip bolt to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) and place it onto the Steering Knuckle followed by the Wheel Speed Sensor and brake hose mounting bracket bolt.

    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing, hub, and seal on GMC Yukon XL 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
For front Wheel Hub replacement start by supporting the car and removing the tire and wheel then brake rotor. Separate the Wheel Speed Sensor and brake hose bracket bolt from the Steering Knuckle before disconnecting the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connection. Unfasten the 15 series Wheel Hub and bearing mount bolts as well as the 25 series Wheel Hub bearing bolts. Then remove the Wheel Hub bearing assembly and splash shield. Take the o-ring seal from the Steering Knuckle hole (25 Series) and Wheel Speed Sensor bolt. Check and test the o-ring (25 Series) for damage before replacing it. First clean both the Steering Knuckle bore and hub and bearing surfaces then apply Wheel Bearing grease in the knuckle bore before installing the o-ring seal onto the knuckle. Position the Wheel Hub and bearing unit properly on the Steering Knuckle after installing the Wheel Speed Sensor bolt at 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.) tension. Also install the hub assembly into the vehicle (25 Series) or the Steering Knuckle (15 Series) alongside the shelter (splash shield). Adjust the Wheel Hub and bearing bolts in the Steering Knuckle (15 Series) and (25 Series) until they apply 180 newton-meters (133 foot pounds) of torque. Use Wheel Speed Sensor electrical power supply. Connect the sensor bolt to Steering Knuckle first then secure it at 12 nm (106 inch lbs) before placing rotor on the wheel.
