Start the replacement of power steering pressure hose by positioning a drain pan beneath the vehicle and removing the accessory Drive Belt. You need an 18-mm crown-foot line wrench paired with a 2-foot 3/8-inch drive extension to access the lower Power Steering Hose at the power steering gear unit through the space between the rocker arm cover and dash mat from the engine compartment. First raise and stabilize the vehicle before removing the tire wheel assembly and place it for later installation. Detach the power steering pressure line from the Power Steering Pump following removal from its clamps on the power steering gear before extracting the equipment from the automobile. The new power steering pressure line needs to be positioned in the vehicle and then tightened to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) when installing it to the power steering gear and pump clamps. Put back the tire and wheel unit then take away the drain pan followed by lowering the vehicle. Reinstall the accessory Drive Belt then fill the power steering system with power steering fluid while performing a system bleed operation and searching for leaks before draining the pan.

Placing a drain pan under the vehicle is essential before starting to replace power steering hoses. You should first decrease the clamp tension of both the power steering pump return port and the power steering pump return line. Detach the rubber section of the power steering return hose away from both the power steering return line assembly and power steering pump return port. The rubber section of the power steering return hose should be connected first to the power steering return line assembly and the power steering pump return port before clamping down the installations. You must drain the pan beneath the vehicle before filling the power steering system for bleeding purposes and checking the system for leakages.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the coolant reservoir.

Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.

Reattach the wiring harness clip to the cooler pipe/hose.

M6 bolt to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) and M8 bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

Attach the power steering pressure line back to the vehicle and secure it to the clamps on the power steering gear before lowering the vehicle.

Raise the vehicle and remove the RH tire and wheel assembly, followed by the steering gear heat shield (snap type).

Position the cooler pipe/hose back into the vehicle and connect it to the steering gear.

Drain as much power steering fluid as possible from the remote power steering fluid reservoir and place drain pans under the vehicle.

Disconnect the cooler pipe from the clips at the rear/RH side of the cradle and lower the vehicle.

Remove the RH engine mount lower nuts and LH transmission mount lower nuts.

Attach the hose to the power steering gear and tighten the pressure hose fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

Allow it to pass under the left side engine mount location.

Remove the pressure hose from the retaining bracket on the engine and detach it from the power steering gear.

Detach the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe, the power steering pump, and the power steering hose retainer.

Remove the drain pan, reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, and lower the vehicle.

Attach the new power steering pressure hose to the vehicle and secure it to the clamps on the power steering gear.

Raise and support the vehicle and place a drain pan underneath.

First, remove the accessory drive belt and raise the vehicle, ensuring it is properly supported.

Reinstall the accessory drive belt, fill the power steering fluid reservoir, bleed the power steering system, and finally inspect the power steering system for leaks.

Fill the power steering system with power steering fluid, bleed the system, and inspect for leaks.

Connect the power steering return line to the power steering gear, tightening the fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

Connect the power steering pressure line to the power steering gear, ensuring to tighten the fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

Attach the return hose to the power steering pump, followed by connecting the return hose to the clips on the power steering gear.

Fill the power steering system, bleed it, and inspect for leaks.

A drain pan to catch any draining power steering fluid.

Remove the drain pan, fill the power steering system, bleed the system, and inspect for leaks.

The power steering pressure line is the lower line at the power steering gear, accessible from the engine compartment between the rocker arm cover and the front of the dash mat.

Place a drain pan under the vehicle to catch any draining power steering fluid.

Fill the power steering system with fluid, bleed the system, and inspect for any leaks.

Reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, fill the power steering fluid reservoir, bleed the power steering system, and inspect for any leaks.

Remove the rubber section of the power steering return hose from the vehicle.

Reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, fill the power steering fluid reservoir, bleed the power steering system, and inspect for any leaks.

Place the new power steering cooler pipe into the vehicle and secure it with the retaining clips.

Place a drain pan under the vehicle and remove the power steering pressure line from the power steering pump and the retaining bracket on the engine.
